Why not take the bus? It's convenient!

The PA organises bus transport in order to enable pupils, living further away from the school to travel between their home and the European School in Mol every day.

Only families who are registered members with the Parents Association are entitled to use the bus service for their children. Please go to the Membership section in the menu, left on this page. Membership costs € 30 per family per year.

Please note that you need to apply for transport by contacting the PA’s travel co-ordinators. Registration of your child at the European School does not automatically include transport.

Please contact Transport Co-ordinators Patricia Janssen + Ciska Smit  by email : transport@paesmol.eu or fill out the admission form.

Bus routes are determined by taking a number of factors into account including safety and efficiency. Currently, (schoolyear 2011-12) six lines are in operation, providing a daily service to and from: Kalmthout/ Brasschaat, Antwerpen/ Wilrijk, Antwerpen/ Borgerhout, Eindhoven/ Lommel, 's Gravenwezel/ Turnhout and Waalre/ Eersel.

Bus stops are planned and reviewed annually in consultation with the school.

Each bus follows a timetable. The transport committee periodically provides the bus company with a list of pupils that travel to and from each stop along the route. A bus should not leave a stop prior to its scheduled departure time unless all registered pupils have already boarded at that stop.

To prevent delays, pupils must arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

Parents share responsibility for the smooth operation of this service. Where appropriate, they must ensure that their children arrive at the stop on time, that they stand on the side of the road where the bus stops and that the child does not cross the road unexpectedly.

Furthermore, parents are responsible for their children's behaviour during the journey. Parents accept responsibility and liability from the moment their child boards the bus, until the child has left the bus, and the bus has left the bus stop.

Financial aspects

The bus transportation service is not subsidised by any institution. As a consequence parents accept responsibility and liability for paying bus fares and other fees in full. Fares and fees are fixed annually by the Transport Committee and are calculated in accordance with bus occupancy. (Average of the total cost divided by the number of pupils taking the bus). The first estimate of fares for the next school year is made before the middle of May.

Please note that, in the interests of all bus users, it is crucial to pay upon first request. Families who do not pay on time risk to loose their reserved places. Also, existing bus users need to re-apply for the following year.

Fares and fees are recalculated at the beginning of the second term taking actual bus occupancy into account.

Fares are to be paid in Euros to the Parents Association European School, Mol, Section Transport, into the following (new!) bank account:

IBAN:  BE48 363 0700521 27
BIC:  BBRUBEBB
